Post-Harvest Training & Innovation Support

Program Brief

At MAVUNOLAB, our goal is to foster innovation and develop homegrown solutions that have a high potential to reduce the post-harvest food loss problem. We partner with young graduates and in-school engineers to develop affordable post-harvest food loss prevention technologies. We support early-stage postharvest innovators in Tanzania through Mentorship and Technical training.

Our Mentorship program is a three-month program targeting early-stage innovators on a mission to develop low-cost technology solutions to reduce or stop food loss and waste. Promising post-harvest products from our innovators receive extra support to validate their solutions to the market. MAVUNOLAB support can include further research, market testing, demonstration, and access to capital or investment. In most cases, innovators with viable business models have a chance to partner with MAVUNOLAB and its partners for the large-scale commercialization of their products.
